10 Ways to Shock People at Carleton University

  1. Power walk up Azrieli Mountain (also known as that really steep slope in the tunnels between UC and Tory) without holding your knees or panting.
  2. Navigate Mackenzie Building without getting lost (extra points if you’re a non-engineering student).
  3. Use the stairs in Dunton Tower (yes, there are stairs).
  4. Walk through the tunnels during election season without getting stopped by CUSA reps (you have to really look aggressive).
  5. Be outside when it’s pouring rain (Why go outside? There are tunnels for a reason!)
  6. Make it to your 8:30 on time.
  7. Jump in the canal (specifically at canal games during frosh week because there’s lots of people around to notice).
  8. Know what the VSHM building is (also applicable for Herzberg Laboratories and HCI).
  9. Know where VSHM is (it’s with Loeb and the other buildings 90% of the school doesn’t bother with).
  10. Say that you write for the Learning Log (and watch people try to remember what that is).
